Introduction to CoolSculpting

CoolSculpting
The original CoolSculpting by ZELTIQ is a breakthrough, non-invasive fat reduction procedure that uses cooling technology to noticeably eliminate fat without surgery. It is not a weight loss solution for people who are obese, but it can be a non-surgical substitute for liposuction. Good candidates have noticeable bulges in certain areas they would like to get rid of.

CoolSculpting® is US FDA-cleared for the flank (love handles), abdomen (belly) and thigh and is proven to be a safe and effective treatment to reduce stubborn and unwanted fat. Typically, there is minimal to no downtime after the treatment.

During the procedure you may experience deep pulling, tugging, pinching, numbness or slight discomfort. Following the procedure, typical side effects include temporary numbness, redness, swelling, bruising, firmness, tingling, stinging and pain that will later subside. The CoolSculpting procedure is not a treatment for obesity.

Dr. Sylvia Ramirez of Cutis Medical Laser Clinics, an award-winning aesthetic clinic in Singapore, will determine if you are a good candidate and work with you to determine the best treatment plan during a one-on-one consultation.

The CoolSculpting treatment starts by marking and measuring the targeted area. The treatment is done while the patient is lying down. The CoolSculpting device is then placed on the marked area and a strong vacuum pressure gently draws tissue between the cooling panels.  As the cooling begins during the first few minutes, you will feel pressure and intense cold. This will soon dissipates.

Many people read, work on their laptop, or even take a nap during their treatment. The sensation is a gentle pull and pressure – enough of a pull to ensure the selected tissue will be cooled most efficiently. An hour later, depending on your needs, you’re done. As the procedure is completely non-surgical, you can typically return to normal activities immediately.
