Is IPL Effective For Your Skin Pigmentation?

 IPL Treatment
Intense Pulsed Light [IPL] is one of the laser treatments; however, it is quite different from the others. The produced light-rays have different wavelengths that penetrate deep within the skin & provide effective treatment. The good thing about IPL treatment is that it can be used for the benefit of the skin in different ways.

IPL treatment is commonly preferred laser-light treatment because a number of skin problems can be dealt with at once. The different wavelengths are effective in the treatment of broken capillaries, age spots, and sun spots. Skin pigments can be aligned by more collagen production. Collagen is the natural protein which makes the skin elastic.

During the skin pigment treatment using IPL, the light produced is normally filtered before reaching the skin. Filtering ensures correct light wavelengths reach the skin. The type of light that the body-substances respond to is the one that is normally allowed in. Hemoglobin, blood vessels, and melanin are the substances that are mostly found in age spots. IPL treatment heats the cells that contain more hemoglobin or melanin, & terminates them.

The process does not take a day alone, it involves many hours of check-ups and exposure to the Intense
Pulsed Light. The steps that are followed include 2 to 3 sessions of treatment which are scheduled 3-weeks apart, to protect the skin, a cooling gel is normally applied, a hand-piece that is chilled is applied on the skin gently, and the deep and superficial layers are rejuvenated by applying light pulses. This process normally takes thirty minutes. During the process, do not strain yourself; for you shall be uncomfortable and it will be less effective because the laser light shall be absorbed by the melanin in the skin.

After the laser treatment, the skin becomes dry for some time and with time; it will appear to be much smoother.
